What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive procedure where our provider uses a special instrument to shave away the outermost layers of skin.
What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning can reduce the appearance of skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin, leaving skin radiant & glowing. Additionally, it is a form of hair removal.
Before Dermaplaning
Reduce sun exposure, dermaplaning cannot be performed on sun burned skin. No waxing, AHA/BHA, Retinol, Accutane for at lease 5 months, or topical acids.
During & After
The provider will cleanse the skin & examine to ensure you are a candidate for dermaplaning. Next, a thin blade will be used to manually exfoliate the uppermost layers of skin. This treatment is often used in combo with PCA Skin chemical peels & filler treatments, after which, you may begin with your next procedure. If no other treatment is performed a soothing botanical and broad spectrum SPF will be applied. After your treatment a windburn sensation may be experienced.
Dermaplaning Results
After your appointment you may feel tight, itchy, and sensitive. Use a mild cleanser and moisturizing agents. After the procedure patients notice: glowing radiant skin, flawless makeup application, reduced appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, and dewy, youthful skin.
